Time for Free Motion Art

A couple of weeks ago I finish a class series with free motion quilting.  We reviewed everything from the darning foot to using stencils.  I have been so excited to practice, so I made a quilt top to practice this new learned art.  Here is my second time doing the surrounded pattern.  Does any know of a free motion patterns website?  I also have a couple of books to browse too!

  1. 365 Days of Freemotion Quilting – Leah’s up to day 19? with great designs for filler. While here’s are very tight (which would be really interesting on your quilt top if you wanted to go that many) you can always make them bigger.

Also, Diane Gaudinski is a freaking genius-

Great ideas, explained well and in detail, and always encouraging of the rest of us mere FMQ mortals.

The more I think about it, the more I think a quilt top like yours is the perfect way to practice all the different designs – nice small, controllable, non-overwhelming areas.

    Good luck!
