Don’t Forget to Trim the Dog Ears

“Dog Ear” — what an odd name for the excess fabric when sewing angles.  I am currently assembling the gumball parts for Stitchin’ Heaven’s Gumball Quilt Pattern.  The first step was to sew 30 half square triangles, which consisted of pairing two pre-cut triangles, pinning, sewing, pressing, and finally — trimming the dog ears!  With all of these steps, it was critical that I worked left to right with a swivel of my body to go between the sewing machine and the ironing board.  Check out my temporary set up in my living room for this project and the 30 half square triangles that resulting from an hour of sewing.
