Underground Railroad Quilt Class

Today was the kickoff for the Underground Railroad quilt class through the Mt. Airy Learning Tree in Philadelphia.  This is a 12 block sampler class.  In addition to learning quilting, we will also be learning the the history of squares as they relate to the Underground Railroad.

As I went to the quilt show this past week, I found a great bargain on $1 fat quarter batiks.  Have you heard of such a thing?  Thus, I had to pick up a few for the underground railroad!  It just happened to be a few (plus many!)  fat quarters.  Each rubber band in the stack below represents each fat quarter.  I am now ready for the Underground Railroad!
