Mancuso Quilt Show in Philly

Since my first quilt show {American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show in Landcaster, PA} last March, I have been eagerly awaiting for this coming Thursday for the Mancuso Quilt Show in Oaks.  I took a day off from work to be there for the opening day.  This week, I have been organizing my shopping list and checking out the vendors that will be there.

It is two days away, let me know if you have any suggestions to keep me from getting overwhelmed!

Preparing for ConKerr’s Miles of Pillowcase Smiles

Starting today, ConKerr Cancer is having a Miles of Pillowcase Smiles from September 13-19.  Please check out the events near you.  For the events for the Philadelphia Chapter, I will be attending the Fabrics on the Hill sewing event on Sunday, September 19.  Please check it out and join the fun!

In the meantime, I will be sewing pillowcases this week to prepare for the event.  Here are the first two:

Gumball Production

Back in March, I went on a quilting shopping spree at the The Quilt Place and purchased ten blue batiks for Stitchin’ Heaven’s Gumball Quilt Pattern.  After six months, I finally opened the kit and went into gumball production mode and made piles of rectangles and triangles that will soon transform into 30 gumball blocks.

Philly Modern Quilt Guild

Through my adventures of reading quilting blogs, I have discovered The Modern Quilt Guild with many chapters across the country.  Luckily, Philadelphia just started a chapter earlier this year called the Philly Modern Quilt Guild.  I submitted my membership form and will be joining the group at the September meeting.  I am very excited to join a group of quilters from my area!
