Sew Modern Dog Bed

When Dunder was younger, he chewed everything!  One day I came home and the entire zipper of his LL Bean dog bed was gone.  He completely destroyed it and ate the evidence.  Luckily, he was okay and no vet bills were involved – phew!  Thankfully, he is now past that stage.  We never bought him a new bed and since there was no zipper, the pillow form was always half hanging out of the bed cover.  To restore his bed, I recycled my old jeans by cutting the ‘legs’ into fabric strips.  With a sturdy back stitch, I made about two yards of pieced “jean” fabric.  Then, I cut this fabric to make a big pillow cover.  He loves it!

  1. Awesome way to use up some jeans, what a fantastic idea!!!

  2. Great idea! I would love to make one for my yellow lab, but he is definitely in his chewing prime! 🙂 Maybe in a year or so. Thanks for linking up to {Sew} Modern Monday!
