Today I worked on several projects for the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild.
Last November, I participated in a Charity Sewing Night with guild. I just finished up the quilting and binding for a snowman themed quilt. It was a collaboration with Julie’s blocks and help with Andrew for sashing and borders.
Our guild is also making pillowcases, here is one that I made for our new charity project – Canine Companions.
Lastly, our February meeting will incorporate a Mug Rug Swap with a challenge to try something new. Here is my mug rug, where I incorporated selvages.
Do you want a similar Mug Rug? As part of the Pay It Forward 2011, I will send something handmade (this Mug Rug) to the first 3 people who leave a comment. To be eligible, you must also post this in your blog, offering the same thing to 3 other people. The rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent to your 3 people sometime in 2011. I will be receiving something handmade from Elizabeth from The Modern Lady Blog. She received something handmade from Belle + Bee, who received something handmade from Lindsay Sews, and on and on.
Last week, I posted my Four Square Table Runner, that had quite a bit more than 4 Squares! Here is the second pattern that my mother-in-law and I made from Anka’s Treasures Little Charmers II. It uses The Caroler charm pack by Moda. It is complete with music notes and holly for a festive Christmas Carol table runner.
To follow up with last week’s give away, the 4-Square table runner consists of 45 squares. I lost count when I first attempted to count the number; thus, I created the following diagram. Please let me know if I missed any!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the give away. Congratulations to Mary from The Curious Quilter Blog. She just won the give away for the April Cornell’s Prayer Flag charm pack!
Throughout this past year, my mother-in-law and I worked on several table runners for gifts for Christmas. With 42 squares in a Moda charm pack, we had a great time picking the layouts! We used the Little Charmers II pattern from Anka’s Treasures, which includes directions for three different table runners: Scrappy Stars, Hourglass, and Framed 4-Patch.
Here is the Framed 4-Patch, which I titled as 4-Square. Now that I am writing this post, there are actually a lot more than 4 squares. How many squares do you see in each table runner? Post a comment with the number of squares by Tuesday, January 4 to be entered in a charm pack giveaway (April Cornell’s Prayer Flag). I will use the Random Number Generator and will announce the winner on Wednesday.
