My Quilt has a Ribbon! I should clarify that it was a very cute participation ribbon, handmade by Janet.
I participated Project Pure for the Philly Modern Quilt Guild by making a butterfly quilt using a charm pack. I was able to finish just in time to share the final quilt at my first guild meeting tonight. It was a great group of quilters that really had fresh creative quilts to share! It was great to see these quilts in person and meet some of the bloggers that I have been following online. I am looking forward to our next meeting in October.
Dunder even likes the quilt too!

The project pure for the Philly Modern Quilt Guild needs to be finished by Tuesday. Thus, I spent the past weekend sewing away to practice my curves by using the pure charm pack with a rattlesnake pattern. I was only able to make 4 squares with a single charm pack. When designing the layout for the four squares, I kept leaning towards an outline of butterfly wings. Thus, I added a butterfly body and antennas. Here is butterfly mini-quilt. The quilt is complete with mini-stippling for the wings and a circle doodle for the background. Tomorrow night, I will work on the binding in time for Tuesday’s meeting. Wow – that was a quick quilt.

I went to the Mancuso Quilt Show in Oaks, PA. It was a wonderful show that was full of inspiration. My favorite part of the show was seeing Kaffe Fassett’s quilts from several of his books. It was a surprise to see his quilts and I loved every minute looking at the flow of the wonderful fabric.
Luckily I had a shopping list to keep me from being overwhelmed at the show! On my list was a Moda charm pack of Pure by Sweetwater so I can participate in “Project Pure” for the Philly Modern Quilt Guild Challenge. For this challenge, we create a unique quilt to show off at our September meeting, which will be my first meeting! Hopefully, I can pull off this quilt by Tuesday…
